Night periodical maintenance work to improve riding experience
Beginning December 2017 until February 2018, maintenance work will be executed throughout the Light Rail route – from Pisgat Ze'ev to Mount Herzl.
As part of these works, the rail will be grinded in order to improve quality of riding and reduce rattling and squealing during the ride.
Maintenance work will be executed during the night in 700m segments throughout the length of the rail. It is estimated that each segment will take 2 nights of work.
For this purpose, Citypass imported a special machine used to maintain light rails in Europe.
To minimize its effect on the public and to reduce interference, work will take place during the night, from 12:30am to 05:30am.
During this period there will be no change to the regular train schedule.
During this period, the segment of rail being services will be blocked for pedestrians. In addition, intersections close to the segment under work will be alternately closed for short periods.
We stress that during the work it is possible you might experience unusual noises and sparks might be seen where work is being done. Therefore, we ask pedestrians to keep away from the work vehicle and obey on-site police and ushers' orders and instructions.
Online updates as to the daily working areas are available on the 106 city call center and on the Citypass website.
Citypass will continue to provide its customers and those visiting Jerusalem with good and efficient service throughout their ride.
